Montclair Mutual Aid Celebrates First Anniversary With Online Art Auction

Montclair Mutual Aid is hosting a First Anniversary Art Auction online from March 19–March 28. The auction will be facilitated on BetterWorld, with an official link to come. Local artists have generously donated their work to help MtcMA projects endure and grow. Fundraising is crucial to keeping the work of MtcMA going, and all of the funds from this auction will go directly back into the community.

Participating artists include established and up-and-coming makers with work ranging from pencil drawings and photographs to ceramics and sculpture. MtcMA is still curating art for this auction; if you are an artist interested in donating work, please write to with a proposed item and image.

Montclair Mutual Aid was founded at the end of March 2020 to address the ways that COVID-19 would exacerbate existing issues that affect the lives of our neighbors in Montclair. For the remainder, Montclair Mutual Aid has done lots of different work around the community, from toiletries drives to community gardening, from grocery deliveries to menstrual product distribution and community events. Montclair Mutual Aid has also partnered with other groups such as Toni’s Kitchen, Newark Water Coalition, and the Northeast Earth Coalition.
