Two South Willow Montclair: 200 Luxury Rentals Coming This Spring

Montclair, N.J. – It’s been a long wait with construction along Bloomfield Avenue between Seymour and South Willow, since the Seymour Street Arts District project broke ground in September 2018. Now, one part of the project is nearing completion. A six-story building – Two South Willow – will open this spring, bringing 200 luxury rental residences and 38,000 square feet of street-level retail and art space to downtown Montclair.

Two South Willow is part of a larger mixed-use development effort from Ironstate Development Company and Brookfield comprising residential, retail, office, and a pedestrian-only space serving as the Wellmont Arts Plaza. The outdoor plaza will include extensive landscaping, outdoor seating, and multiple art installations, as well as space to host open-air performances and other events, adjacent to Wellmont Theater. The outdoor arts plaza is being designed by Montclair-based landscape architect Arterial.

Two South Willow features open floor plan apartments with modern kitchens and ample storage; keyless building entry; a fitness center with Peloton bikes; parking structure; a study with fireplace for residents with an entry to the roof deck with fire pits, grills and shuffleboard court.

The first three commercial tenants for the new mixed-use development will be an art school, an indoor rock climbing gym, and a medical practice.

The Gravity Vault will open its 11th location with a new 12,000-square-foot space in Montclair.

Summit Medical Group, who currently has offices in Montclair, will take over the full 40,000-square-foot space at 1 Seymour Plaza. A third tenant is the Englewood-based One River Art School who will occupy some 3,300 square feet of space in Montclair, including an exhibition area.
