Township Increases Recycling Drop-off Hours

MONTCLAIR, NJ – Notice from the Department of Community Services:

Curbside recycling collection was temporarily suspended last week. Given the numbers of residents bringing their recycling to the DCS yard at 219 North Fullerton Avenue, effective immediately, recycling drop-off days and hours at the yard will be increased as follows:

Wednesdays: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Fridays: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturdays: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Township of Montclair thanks everyone for taking time out to properly dispose of their recyclable materials.

  1. I dropped off some bottles and cans yesterday. It was fine, maybe 20 minutes, even though the line was backed up to Chestnut Street.

    So, that is 75 cars/hour, average idling for 20 minutes plus the trip to and from, with whatever an avg car load is. The good news is it shows we care about the environment by responsibly disposing of our singe-use containers. Maybe – just spitballing here – we up our conservation during these recycling troubles? Maybe use growlers instead of single-use cans & bottles. Egan’s and Montclair Brewery are a hop, skip and jump away. Or we water down our scotch so it last longer.
