Where did you grow up? East Orange. I’ve lived here all my life.
How do you make a living? OR What is your everyday passion? I work in social services. My everyday passion is writing.
Coffee, tea or … ? Tea. I’ve never had coffee.
What’s your idea of a perfect weekend day? I would wake up at 10 to a great view and breakfast. I’d have no responsibility, so I could do some running, reading, and listening to music.
What’s your favorite local restaurant? Cuban Pete’s. My favorite dish is the Pargo; I only eat seafood.
What’s on your nightstand? Books. Water. And a journal.

What are your current indulgences? Ice cream from Salaam Parlor in Newark, and water.
What talent you would most like to have? I’m great at many things, but I can organize the heck out of a fundraiser.
What’s the worst-kept (or best-kept!) secret about East Orange? A cool secret about East Orange is that at one point it was the cleanest city in the USA.
What do you hope they say about you at your funeral? That I was a giver.
