Nutrient-dense “fuel for the mind, body, and soul,” along with a full menu of superfood plant based snacks, bowls, salad, and soups, are now available from JP Juice Bar, inside Brookdale ShopRite.
When you feel like you’re going to shop ’til you drop, make your first stop at JP just inside the main entrance to Brookdale ShopRite’s new Fresh To Table grab and go store within a store. JP operates in 30 New York City locations, but this is their first venture in New Jersey.
All vegan, kosher, with no processed sugars, JP’s large selection of smoothies are made with fresh plant based ingredients, dairy and gluten free. The menu is conveniently grouped catering to your nutritional priorities: Superfood Green, Antioxidant Fruit, ProteinProteinProtein and Immunity, as well as the slightly indulgent “Functional Shakes,” with flavors like Heavenly Chocolate Almond, Almond Butter Cup, and Mint Chip. Served in 16oz and 24 oz cups, you can customize any smoothie with wellness, antioxidant, energy and protein boosters which are identified as a boost for focus, heart health, gut health, or anti inflammation.
In a low-cal green mood, we sampled the Green light superfood smoothie (spinach, kale, vanilla, banana, date, maple) with a mango booster and the Nurse Ginger Green (spinach, kale, ginger, avocado, lemon banana, date, maple). Finding them filling, tasty, healthy and very low cal, we returned to try more substantial protein shakes — the Blue Magic and Cacao Blueberry — each packing a whopping 21 grams of protein. JP also offers the option to swap cauliflower for 1/2 a banana, saving 25 calories and 6 grams of carb, and substituting oat milk for almond milk. If you’re in the mood for something more indulgent, try their Heavenly Chocolate Almond or Mint Chip healthy shakes.
Health-centric, vegetarian and vegan foodies will be happy to add JP to their go-to list of local eateries. Among the healthy choices are protein bowls that include three toppings as well as soon-to-come popular breakfast selections like fruited overnight oats and chia seed pudding. For lunch and dinner, pick up one of the organic soups (lentil mushroom chili sounds good!) in the refrigerator case, where you’ll also find cold pressed juices. Each menu item also mentions the calorie count; some also list the protein count.
Cold pressed juice blends, infused waters, detox shots, handcrafted kombucha and a tempting array of super food snacks round out a menu of dizzying choices. Oh, did I mention the organic coffee and teas?
Grocery shopping has never been more enticing with a full service health food bar on site to get your day off to a good start or provide that afternoon pick me up.
