Watchung Booksellers Hosts Author of ‘Bee People and the Bugs They Love’

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Watchung Booksellers celebrates Earth Day with Master Beekeeper Frank Mortimer, author of “Bee People and the Bugs They Love,” as part of its Evening with the Author virtual events. He will be in conversation with fellow backyard beekeeper Derek Stordahl on Wednesday, April 21, at 7:30 pm.

“Bee People and the Bugs They Love,” is a fascinating foray into the obsessions, friendships, scientific curiosity, misfortunes and rewards of suburban beekeeping. In it, Frank shares the secret world of bees, and the singular world of his fellow bee-keepers. From the Badger, who introduces Frank to the world of bees, to Scooby the “dude,” who gets a meditative high off the awesome vibes of his psychedelia-painted hives, this club of disparate but kindred spirits teach the centuries-old history of the trade, the practicality of maintaining it, and much more.

Just in time to celebrate Earth Day, Frank the Bee Man will share what he’s learned about the symbiotic relationship between bee and the beekeepers who are determined to protect the existence of one of the most beguiling and invaluable creatures on earth.

The event is free. Register at www.crowdcast.io/e/beepeople or www.watchungbooksellers.com.
