Suspicious Person

May 12, 2021 (South Mountain Avenue): The resident reported that at 9:28 AM the home’s surveillance system captured an unknown female walk up to the front door of the residence and ring the doorbell. After receiving no answer, the female suspect began looking in the front windows to see if someone was home. The female walked down the driveway to a side door and attempted to open the door, however it was locked. The female then returned to the front door and attempted to open it, but was unsuccessful. The suspect, female, was described as thin build, with dark shoulder length hair. She was wearing sunglasses, a light colored (possibly white or gray) jacket, a mask around her neck, light colored (possibly white) pants, and pink sneakers with a white sole. Cameras recorded her entering a light colored SUV, possibly a GMC.


May 13, 2021 (Bloomfield Avenue): An employee of ‘Sneakers and Cream’ reported that at approximately 5:20 PM, a male entered the store. The employee stated that the male was belligerent and possibly intoxicated. After a verbal dispute between the customer and employee over the price of a sweatshirt, the suspect took possession of two pairs of sneakers valued at a total of $500.00 and a camouflaged hat valued at $30.00. The sneakers were a pair of yellow Jordan “What The” (style), (size 10.5; $250.00) and a beige pair of Yeezy “380s” (size 7.5;
$250.00). The suspect, male, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with white and red lettering on the front, and black jeans, was last seen westbound on Bloomfield Avenue on foot.

Theft from Motor Vehicle

May 14, 2021 (Orange Road): The victim reported that he entered his vehicle and discovered that the glove box and center console had been opened and were rummaged through. Phone charges, a first aid kit, and approximately $20.00 in cash were removed. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked.

Attempted Burglary

May 17, 2021 (Sherman Street): The resident reported two burglary attempts to her apartment over the last two days. The resident went on to state that the last two nights (5/16/21 and 5/17/21) at approximately 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM she heard someone attempting to gain entry to her apartment via the windows on the east and south facing sides of the apartment. She added that the next morning after both incidents she inspected the window and found the screens damaged, cut or removed completely. The resident never observed anybody and entry was not gained.


May 14, 2021 (Orange Road): A 36-year-old Montclair man was charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop.
