Come out and enjoy Uptown Montclair when it host its 45th annual Sidewalk Sale on Saturday, September 18, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year will be the second year ever that Valley Road will be closed between Lorraine Ave. and Bellevue Ave. to create space for shopping and walking.
More than 30 businesses will participate and offer the sales that attract customers each and every year. This is a time to come support small businesses who have been in Montclair for decades, such as Barbara Eclectic and Over The Moon as well as other long-time businesses such as Frederic’s Fine Jewelers and Montclair Stationery. There are a few newcomers to the neighborhood, too, such as Beyond The Boogie and Dry Goods Refillery.
Montclair High School Project Graduation will have a table selling spirit wear to raise money for 2022 graduation celebrations. Other local nonprofits such as the Montclair Film Festival, Montclair Ambulance Unit and the Women’s Club will also have tables where people can learn about the upcoming happenings and ways to support our town throughout the year.
There will be lots of options to eat and drink throughout the day. New to the block is Empire Nutrition, offering smoothies and bowls and other healthy options. The Little Daisy Bake Shop, who this year is celebrating 10 years in Montclair, will be set up out in front of their bakery offering sweet treats and nut & peanut-free ice cream.
Music will be provided by Montclair Diner, MHS Passing Notes and local favorite Joe Colwell. If you haven’t heard 17-year-old Colwell perform, you are in for a treat. His John Mayer-esque style has attracted crowds at The General Store at Cornerstone on many occasions and this will be no exception.
There is no rain date so fingers crossed for a bright and sunny day!
Parking will be available in the lots behind Valley and off Bellevue Ave., as well as street parking on Lorraine and North Mountain.
