Montclair Schools Ready For Thursday Opening After Flooding

Montclair Schools Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Ponds, in a message to parents Tuesday, thanked Buildings and Grounds personnel, the Township Officials and Mayor’s Office, and the Fire, Police, and Community Service Departments for tireless work all weekend long even through the Labor Day holiday to ready Montclair school buildings for opening after damage from Hurricane Ida.

Montclair High School was one of the buildings that had flood damage after Hurricane Ida.

“We brought in First Onsite a disaster relief company to remove damaged material and sanitize our flooded facilities. We will be open and ready for students on Thursday, September 9,” Dr. Ponds said.
