MONTCLAIR, NJ — Watchung Booksellers welcomes Joshua Prager, author of “The Family Roe: An American Story” as part of its ongoing “Evening with the Authors” virtual events on Wednesday, October 6, at 7:30 p.m.
“The Family Roe” is a masterpiece of reporting on the Supreme Court’s most divisive case, Roe v. Wade, and the unknown lives at its heart. Despite her famous pseudonym, “Jane Roe,” little is known about the complex and heartbreaking life of Norma McCorvey, whose unwanted pregnancy in 1969 opened a great fracture in American life. Journalist Joshua Prager spent hundreds of hours with Norma and here he presents her life in full, and in turn, the story of abortion in America. “The Family Roe” is an epic work spanning 50 years of American history, and will change the way you think about our enduring American divide.
