Where To Go Apple Picking in New Jersey

Nothing says fall like apple picking! The Garden State is ripe with options for picking your own apples. Here are some of the farms and orchards across the state with PYO options. Even if you’ve been to a particular location before, make sure to check the website, call, or look them up on social media to confirm your plans.

Alstede Farms
1 Alstede Farms Lane, Chester Township, NJ 07930

Entry is only guaranteed with the purchase of an advanced ticket. A $5 charge per ticket will be added if you do not prepurchase. Time slots are noted on the website. There are multiple ticket options depending on the amount of produce you plan to pick.

Melick’s Town Farm
472 County Road 513, Califon, NJ 07830

Open every day from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. There are multiple locations where picking is available. Visitors are encouraged to call ahead and check the schedule.

Demarest Farms
244 Wierimus Road, Hillsdale, NJ

Open daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Reservations are required for all pick-your-own activities.

Terhune Orchards
330 Cold Soil Road, Princeton, NJ
(Apple picking located at 13 Van Kirk Road.)

Fields are open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with last entry at 4:30 PM. The number of people admitted at a time will be limited. Customers will have 30 minutes to pick. Complete guidelines and procedures page is available here. Family fun weekends will be held on Saturdays and Sundays through October 31, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Lee Turkey Farm
201 Hickory Corner Road, East Windsor, NJ

Open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Sunday 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Last entry to begin picking is 5:00 PM. Membership in the Lee Turkey Farm Pick Your Own Club is required ($2 fee). Visit the website for additional guidelines.

Wightman’s Farm
1111 Mount Kemble Road, Morristown, NJ

Open Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for the Fall Festival. Admission includes orchard entry, Mazeland entry, tote bag to hold the apples, a pumpkin, and scenic hayrides. Tickets are $25 per person. There is an additional cost for the apples you pick. Children 3 years and under are free. The farm is also open on Fridays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM for picking only.

Battleview Orchards
91 Wemrock Road, Freehold, NJ

The Country Store is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily. Closed on Tuesdays. Pick your own hours are daily (except Tuesdays) from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Check their Facebook page for up to date information.

Von Thun Farms
505 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08810 (Middlesex County)
438 Route 57 West, Washington, NJ 07882 (Warren County)

Apple picking is available from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. No reservations or pre-purchased tickets are required. Saturday and Sunday are Fall Festival Weekends and pre-purchased tickets are strongly recommended. Visit the website for more details.

Riamede Farm
122 Oakdale Road, Chester, NJ 07930

The farm is open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Farm Passes are required for entry and advance purchase is recommended. September Farm Passes are $1-$7 depending on the date and time chosen.

Mackeys Orchard
284 Country Road 519, Belvidere, NJ 07823

The orchard is open for PYO weekends from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. To get to the orchard to pick, you must take a hayride which is $2 per person. Apples are paid for separately.

Pochuck Valley Farms
962 Route 517, Glenwood, NJ 07418

The farm is open daily from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Apple cider is available starting September 15th. Donuts and other baked goods are available in the market.
