Boo! Check Out These Halloween Fun Family Events

Halloween is almost here! If you’re in a festive mood and looking for some family-friendly holiday fun, you’re in the right place. We’ve rounded up some local activities for everyone to enjoy.

Demarest Farms Halloween Light Show (244 Wierimus Road, Hillsdale) will be held through October 31 from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Take your vehicle on a guided tour through 32 acres of brilliant Halloween light displays, enjoy farm fresh goodies in the retail farm market, warm up by the fire pits, make your own s’mores, and hot cocoa. Reservations are required and must be made online. No tickets are available on site. Tickets are $35 per car.

Tice’s Corner Fall Harvest Festival (441 Chestnut Ridge Road, Woodcliff Lake) will be held on October 23 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Dress up for some early trick o’ treating at Tice’s Corner, enjoy some family time and a few other surprises.

Stew Leonard’s (700 Paramus Park, Paramus) Harvest & Halloween Drive Through will be open through October 31 from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. This family-friendly drive through features more than a dozen Halloween-themed scenes using inflatable characters, decorations, and more! Customers can also tune their car’s radio to a special radio station where Clover the Cow’s spooky Halloween soundtrack will delight kids of all ages. This event is free.

Skylands Stadium Jack o’ Lantern Experience (94 Championship Place, Augusta) will be open most days through November 7. Check the website for available time slots each day. Enjoy a 45-minute walk-thru featuring over 6,000 jack-o-lanterns, seasonal food, drink, and snacks, and a fall fest, carnival, and beer garden.  Tickets must be purchased in advance. The walk-thru is $19-$24 per person. The Fall Festival is free and opens at 5:00 PM. You must buy tickets online to get your time slot.

Liberty Hall Museum Annual Pumpkin Patch Day (1003 Morris Avenue, Union) will be held on October 30 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Enjoy a fun filled day with trick or treating, pumpkin picking, hayrides, games, pumpkin carving and painting, crafts, and so much more. Reservations are suggested can tickets can be purchased online. Cost is $8 for adults and $12 for children 3 and over. Lunch and snacks are available for purchase. There is an additional charge for pumpkins.

Presby Memorial Iris Gardens (47 Upper Mountain Avenue, Upper Montclair) will host Gardens Aglow on October 29 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. View the gardens at dusk as they come to life with artfully carved jack-o-lanterns supplied by local high school art departments. Enjoy a glass of cider at sunset while watching the gardens glow! Activities, entertainment, a mad science show, and refreshments will be on-going throughout the event. Admission is free.

Turtle Back Zoo (560 Northfield Avenue, West Orange) will host Step Sisters Take Over Cinderella’s Halloween Pumpkin Party by Bella Princess LLC on October 30 from 6:40 PM to 7:40 PM. Oh my ghoul! It’s time for Cinderella’s Annual Pumpkin Ball, but her Step Sisters have arrived to cause festive chaos for Halloween! Enjoy this brand-new experience at the TBZ Carousel. Wear your best Halloween costume and get ready to sing, dance, and celebrate the spooky season with some of your favorite characters. Tickets are $34.97 each for children and adults.

Whippany Railway Museum’s Pumpkin Patch & Halloween Train (1 Railroad Plaza, Whippany) will be held on October 17 at 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 4:00 PM. Buy tickets in advance up until 1 hour before departure time. Join in the Halloween fun at the Whippany Railway Museum onboard “The Pumpkin Patch Train!” The 10-mile, 45-minute round trip from Whippany to Roseland and return is the perfect way to spend a Fall afternoon with the family. After each ride, children with valid train tickets can go to the Pumpkin Patch and pick out a free kid-sized pumpkin and receive a pumpkin decorating kit while supplies last. Tickets are $15-$22.

Montclair Police Department and Montclair Police Foundation (647 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair – Rear parking lot) will host the 4th Annual Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 29 at 4:00 PM. Enjoy treats, prizes, giveaways & much more at this free event.

Beyond the Boogie Dance Company (602-604 Valley Road, Montclair) will host Beyond the Boogie Bash on October 30 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Wear your costume and join BTB for a trunk or treat and dance party in the Bellevue Avenue Parking Lot. All ages are welcome.

Brite Nites 2021 will be held at Wagner Farm Arboretum (197 Mountain Avenue, Warren) on October 14-16, October 21-23, and October 28-30 from 6:45 PM to 9:45 PM. This drive-thru experience features a pumpkin path with thousands of creatively carved and lighted pumpkins. Sessions are timed and all tickets must be purchased online. Tickets are $35 per car.
