Montclair Mutual Aid Hosts a Free Kitchenware and Storytelling Event at Lackawanna Plaza

Join Montclair Mutual Aid on Sunday, October 17th, 11-30 am to 3:30 pm to share a story and select some free items for your kitchen at Lackawanna Plaza – as Montclair Mutual Aid hosts its Fall Fest – Kitchenware Freeshop in association with Montclair Neighborhood Development Corp, Reaching Out Montclair & BDP Holdings.

Montclair Mutual Aid is seeking Storytellers of all ages and levels to complete our event-making around the theme of our Kitchenware Freeshop.

Please share your stories about an item you donated or what the “Kitchen” means to you. Related themes can be around the “Hearth,” “Home” or a favorite “Recipe” or “Dish”.

Stories should be personal and you are encouraged to tell your story and not to read it. However, please use notes if you are more comfortable. Again, all are welcome to tell their stories — whether this is your first time or you tend to hold center around the camp fire.

Montclair Mutual Aid will have a microphone, an emcee, and a timer. Stories should be limited to approximately four minutes.

For more information, to sign up for a slot or to donate a recipe, please send an email to: . It would be amazing if your recipe has a little story to go with it.

Montclair Mutual Aid will be collecting favorite family recipes for a future community cookbook. Feel free to email them ahead of time, or bring a copy with you on the day.

Enjoy fun, refreshments, meeting neighbors and picking up some new to you kitchenware at this special event.

Montclair Mutual Aid is collecting kitchenware items: Pots, pans, dishes, small appliances. Drop donations off at Lackawanna Plaza (door next to Popeye’s) at the designated times: 11am to 1pm, Sunday Oct 10 or 9-11am Wednesday, Oct 13.
