Partners Break the Cycle of Domestic Violence 5K Walk Raises Nearly $30,000

More than 60 walkers came together on Sunday, October 3 at the South Mountain Recreation Complex to raise funds for Partners, a non-profit organization that provides free legal services to domestic and sexual violence victims. The event was sponsored by Bevan Mosca, & Giuditta, P.C.; It’s Your Party; and McManimon, Scotland & Baumann, LLC.

Sari B. Placona, Esq., an associate at McManimon, member of Partners’ Junior Advisory Board, and pro bono attorney for Partners, spoke at the event.

“Volunteering as a pro bono attorney for Partners allows me to make a difference in someone else’s life.”

Placona stated that her most recent client from Partners told her that she was only able to get through the final restraining order hearing because she had someone to believe in her and guide her.

Placona said, “we must continue to help those in need. We all need help in our daily lives and to use my law license is an honor and privilege.” She urged others to consider volunteering for Partners. Since the start of the pandemic, domestic violence has increased throughout New Jersey. All walkers collectively raised nearly $30,000!

Partners empowers low-income victims and survivors of domestic violence to build safe and secure futures for themselves and their children by providing equal access to justice. We provide free legal services to low-income victims of domestic violence.
