Glen Ridge Fire Under Investigation

On November 19th, at 7:08pm the Montclair Fire Department received a call reporting a fire on Woodland Ave in Glen Ridge. The residents self-evacuated prior to fire department arrival. The fire was located on the third floor. MFD units stretched multiple hose lines to the 3rd floor and quickly extinguished the fire. There was heavy fire, smoke and water damage to the third floor and smoke/water damage on the first two floors. While Montclair units battled the fire, units from East Orange, Clifton and West Orange covered the township for the duration of the incident. There were no reported civilian or Fire Department injuries. The last unit cleared the scene at 9:06pm. According to Deputy Chief Robert Duncan, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
