Smooth Jazz New Jersey and the Maplewood Division of Arts and Culture Presents MARION MEADOWS AND ALEX BUGNON HOLIDAYS AT THE WOODLAND on December 17, at 8 p.m.

Marion Meadows and Alex Bugnon, individually, have been staples in Contemporary Jazz for over two decades. Marion Meadows (Soprano Sax) and Alex Bugnon (keyboards) join together with an energetic show of contemporary jazz, and Holiday Cheer, at the historic Woodland Mansion, in Maplewood N.J. Also appearing: Montclair’s own Jacquie Lee.

About The Artists


With seven top charting albums to his credit, Marion Meadows has developed a trademark sharp edged, yet warm sweet tone, with a consummate sense of lyricism. Marion’s debut album “For Lovers Only “(RCA 1990) immediately made him a staple in Contemporary Jazz radio. Seven albums later he continues to be on the top of his game with his 2021 release of “Twice As Nice and his “Christmas With You” album. His live performances have been seen from western Europe, to Uganda, and has played all the major jazz festival statewide.


After touring with notables such as Freddie Jackson, James Ingram Pattie Austin, Melba Moore, and Najee, the Swiss born, and Berkley School of Music trained, pianist broke into the Smooth Jazz scene big time with his award winning third Epic records album “107 Degrees In The Shade”. Now, with ten albums to his credit he is an established energetic force in Contemporary Jazz best know for his astonishing live performances.


Coming from a musical family in Montclair, Violinist Jacqueline Lee, age 16, already has an authentic style which reflects her love for violinist Stuff Smith and saxophonist Sonny Stitt. As a working musician she has performed at the Jazz Standard NYC and Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola at Lincoln Center.

Following the Maplewood based Baker Street Trio, (ages 14-17) who opened for the Bernie Williams-Gil Parris Quartet, October 22, at the Woodland in Maplewood, Jacqueline and her trio will open for two of the gold standards in contemporary jazz. Marion Meadows (Alto Sax) and Alex Bugnon (Keyboards) are each enjoying successful careers individually with 26 albums between the two, and busy national and international touring.

The South Orange-based nonprofit JESPY House, which supports adults with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities, will be providing a wine bar in the second floor Parlor, where the meet and greet and merchandise sales will also take place.
