Cocktails on Church Street: Fresco Da Franco Gets Montclair Liquor License

Montclair, NJ – In a town with a limited number of liquor licenses, scoring one is always big news. Montclair’s town council passed a resolution Tuesday authorizing the person-to-person and place-to-place transfers of Alcoholic Beverage Plenary Retail Consumption License No. 0713-33-027-001 from Placek Enterprises, LLC to Fresco Da Franco, Inc.

David Placek of Placek Enterprises, LLC, had purchased the license from township for $1.051 million at auction in December 2019 after the town’s population increased and it was able to add a 13th liquor license. The license had been a pocket license — not in use by Placek or associated with any location. Placek’s BDP Holdings then purchased Lackawanna Plaza in February 2021, where there is already a liquor license at Pineapple Express, the restaurant in the former Pig & Prince location at Lackawanna Station.

Fresco Da Franco, located on Church Street, has become known as favorite haunt of the Real Housewives of New Jersey. Are you excited to have a new active liquor license in Montclair?

  1. What a shame. The last thing I want to do is go anywhere where I’ll see the Desperate Housewives of New Jersey. That’s so profoundly unappealing.
