Winter Storm Advisory: Snow, Sleet Expected For Morning Commute

There is a winter weather advisory in effect from 10 p.m. Thursday evening to 1 p.m. Friday with mixed precipitation according to the National Weather Service. Total combined snow and sleet accumulations of 1 to 2 inches and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch are expected for our area. Plan on slippery road conditions and if you can, stay off the roads or plan to leave later in the day, as the hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.

Gov. Phil Murphy said the storm is “not as severe as we thought” but the danger from ice is a concern, with a possible ban on commercial vehicles and a delayed opening for state offices Friday morning being considered.
