Montclair Public Library Announces Photography Exhibition, Todd Boebel/New Objectivity

Montclair, NJ — The Montclair Public Library is pleased to announce “Todd Boebel/New Objectivity”, is on view April 1st thru April 29th, 2022 during library hours, at the Main Library located at 50 South Fullerton Avenue in Montclair.

In “New Objectivity”, American artist, Todd Boebel (pronounced Bay-bl), weighs examples of his photography with photographers of Germany’s New Objectivity movement of the 1920’s who valued technical proficiency for capturing reality.

“New Objectivity” is a balanced exhibit; there are portraits, still life and prints of architecture and industrial manufacturing. A highlight of the exhibit is a grouping of jazz portraits, including living legends, Grachan Moncur III and Andy Bey, who both grew up in Newark.

As with Boebel’s previous solo photography exhibits, all of the framed images are printed in black & white.

The Library welcomes inquiries from local artists and arts organizations regarding use of the exhibit space. For further information, please contact the Montclair Public Library (973) 744-0500 ext. 2221.
