  • Enjoy The Resistance Revival Chorus at SOPAC tonight, March 10 at 7:30 pm. The chorus is a collective of more than 60 womxn and non-binary singers who join together to breathe joy and song into the resistance and to uplift and center womxn’s voices.
  • Kansas marks the 40th anniversary of the release of their classic album Point of Know Return by performing the iconic recording in its entirety as well as other Kansas favorites at Mayo PAC on Friday, March 11 at 7:30 pm.

  • Cinema Lab at SOPAC Celebrates Women’s History Month with the Funny Women in Film series. See Girls Trip this weekend.
  • The West Orange Classic Film Festival continues on Sunday, March 13 with “Buck Privates” (1941), with comics writer/film historian Paul Castiglia, who has contributed commentary to the newly restored Season 1 of “The Abbott and Costello Show” DVD and Blu-Ray collections.

Theater & Dance

  • Luna Stage presents Torn Asunder on March 11 and 12 at 8 pm. It dramatizes true stories of newly emancipated African Americans trying to overcome the ever-present vestiges of institutional slavery to reconnect with their families.
  • SOPAC presents the Red Baraat Festival of Colors on Friday, March 11 at 8 pm. It’s an immersive experience celebrating the spirit of the Hindu holiday of Holi through music, dance, and visuals. Led by dhol player Sunny Jain, the group has drawn worldwide praise for its merging of North Indian Bhangra with elements of Funk, Go-Go, Rock, and raw Punk energy.
  • Celebrate all things Irish with The National Dance Company of Ireland at Mayo PAC on Sunday, March 13 at 3 pm & 7 pm. This all-new, high-energy production features award-winning step dancers, musicians, and vocalists who bring to life the vibrant spirit of the Emerald Isle.

Comedy

  • Gary Gulman is one of the greatest working comedians today—the comic the other comics wait around to watch. See him at NJPAC on Thursday, March 10 at 8 pm and Friday, March 11 at 8 pm.
  • Charismatic comic, writer, and actor Deon Cole performs at NJPAC on Friday, March 11 at 8 pm.

  • Exposure to literacy and the arts is critical to early childhood development, yet inequities in education continue to widen. Join Montclair Art Museum at the Town Hall: Elevating Literacy Through the Arts tonight, March 10 at 7 pm,to participate in a virtual conversation moderated by Montclair community activist James Johnson.
  • Newark Museum presents Art After Dark: Street Art Face‑Off (21+) tonight, March 10 from 7—10 pm. The event is a celebration of New Jersey’s Street Art and the legacy of Newark’s own Jerry Gant.
