When did you move there? We moved to Montclair in 1981.
Where did you grow up? I grew up in the Frog Hollow section of town. #HollowLove
How do you make a living? OR What is your everyday passion? I am currently an Administrative Assistant at the East Orange Board of Education. My everyday passion is to ensure that everyone I come in contact with is doing well and has what they need. My dedicated work with Montclair Mutual Aid allows me to do just that.
Coffee, tea or … ? Coffee, iced, cream, no sugar.
What’s your idea of a perfect weekend day? A perfect weekend day would a wonderful brunch, a little retail therapy and then a nap with my cell phone ringer off.
What’s your favorite local restaurant? It’s a tie between the Montclair Diner and Fascino’s. Yes, I know. Two very different places, but I love them both equally. The food is excellent.
What’s on your nightstand? A bottle of water, a box of tissues, a pen & pad, cell phone and miniature York peppermint patties.
What are you listening to? Jazz on WBGO
What are your current indulgences? Oh dear, let’s see, playa bowls, gelato, red wine and disco fries, in no particular order of course.
What talent you would most like to have? I would love to be able to sing jazz at the DLV Lounge.
What’s the worst-kept (or best-kept!) secret about Montclair? The best kept secret about Montclair is the M.L.K. Monument at Nishuane Park which was erected by my Dad in partnership with the Peaceful Warriors Organization in recognition and celebration of Juneteenth.
What do you hope they say about you at your funeral? She cared for everyone and helped all she could, Ms. Montclair.
