New York Yankees great C.C. Sabathia was presented with the Yogi Berra Museum Teammate Award; WNBC anchor and 8-Time Emmy Award winner Bruce Beck took home the Humanitarian Award; former long-time president of the National Baseball Hall of Fame Jeff Idelson was given the Community Service Award; and Arlene Howard, author and wife of the late Elston Howard, the first Black player to join the NY Yankees, received the Carmen Berra Award.

“We are so grateful for the opportunity, finally, to celebrate these extraordinary individuals,” said Eve Schaenen, Executive Director of the Museum & Learning Center. “Not only do our award recipients represent the values that Yogi and this Museum stand for – respect, determination, humility and excellence – but they possess an additional outstanding quality that’s been on full display since we announced these awards 2 years ago: patience!”

Award presenters included Hall of Famer Johnny Bench, Larry Doby, Jr., sports broadcaster Ian Eagle, and former Giants head coach Tom Coughlin, who appeared at the event remotely.

“Gathering here in Yogi’s Museum feels like a fitting reminder of how his legacy continues to connect us to our best selves and to one another,” Schaenen added.
