Unity Montclair Shows Support For Ukraine

The congregation of Unity Montclair creates an Easter Wreath every year, but this year’s wreath idea was conceptualized and created by three church members — Elise Pelletier, Carmen Calderon, and Donna Walker — to honor the people of Ukraine.

Yellow and blue silk carnations emboss a wooden ring and encircle Ukraine’s flag colors along with sunflowers, its national flower, representing the solidarity and faith of Ukraine’s people. The wreath, while symbolizing support for a peaceful resolution for the peoples of Ukraine and Russia, also represents prayerful solidarity with all oppressed people the world over.

The wreath will remain on display throughout the Spring. Currently, Unity of Montclair is considering several Ukrainian charities for donation of its monthly tithing commitment.
