‘Inspired Landscape’ at West Orange Arts Center Opens Friday

West Orange, NJ – Seven local artists from various Essex County towns come together in “INSPIRED LANDSCAPE,” the work of the West Orange Critique Group Collective at the West Orange Arts Center, presented by the West Orange Arts Council (WOAC). The artists—Dan Epstein, Leslie Goldman, Marlene Hendrian, Ann Kraus, Fernando Mariscal, Denis Orloff, and Katy Repka — are hosting a light reception on Friday, July 29, from 5-7:30pm at the West Orange Arts Center Gallery and Gift Shop. The exhibit is on view during gallery and gift shop hours on Saturdays from 11am to 4pm and by appointment.

Denis Orloff

In a demonstration of the power of constructive feedback among creatives, this group came together as strangers from different backgrounds, working in various media (photography, graphite, oil, watercolor) and with different practices. Meeting monthly for six years they critique each other’s work, discussing composition, value, subject matter, color, technique, inspiration, and the joy of the creative process. They have found this support and consistent accountability has helped each one’s artistic growth on the road to mastery.
