Humane Montclair is sponsoring a fur drive during the month of November. Empty your closets holding grandma’s old fur stoles, fur coats, fur hats and fur jackets!

All donated furs will be upcycled into blankets and bedding for injured and orphaned animals at several wildlife rehabilitation centers. Natural fur bedding reduces stress and aids in physical recovery of rescued wildlife in rehabilitation. Humane Montclair will pack and ship all donations to the centers.

“The furs help to minimize contact with humans, helping to improve their chances of survival when they are released back into the wild,” … “The fur that was once brutally taken from animals such as rabbits, can now be used as a source of care and compassion.” –Alexandra Beane, Cuddle Coats

To schedule a fur pick up, contact Humane Montclair at 973-746-4399, or message on Facebook. Humane Montclair volunteers will arrange a day and time to collect your donation.

Furs will also be collected at L&B Healthy Pet Market, 15 South Fullerton, Montclair, on 11/19 from 12-5pm. Please consider also making a small cash donation to defer shipping costs of the furs.
