Arrest

06-20-2017 (Pine Street) Mr. Christopher Alonzo, 28yoa from Newark, was arrested for Possession of CDS. He was also held on an open warrant out of Newark. Mr. Zahir Muhammad, 19yoa from Montclair, was arrested on open warrants out of Montclair totaling $2,500.

06-21-2017 (Forest Street) A 15yoa Montclair male was arrested for having in his possession a bicycle stolen from in front of a commercial establishment on Forest Street.

06-23-2017 (Park Street) Mr. Duchaun Butler, 39yoa from Montclair, was arrested and charged with DWI.

06-24-2017 (Grove Street) Mr. Donald Robinson, 58yoa from Montclair was arrested and charged with DWI.

Burglary/Theft

06-20-2017 (Washington Street) Theft of a bicycle from the rear deck of a residence.

06-20-2017 (Bay Street Station) Theft of a bicycle from the Bay Street Station. Officers recovered the bicycle later that date on Pine Street.

06-20-2017 (Myrtle Avenue) Burglary to a residence through an unlocked rear door. A purse was taken in this incident. Continue Reading

Arrest

06-14-2017 (Grenada Place) Mr. Junior Petit-Frere, 20yoa from Orange, was arrested after having stolen a delivered package from a front porch. He was charged with Theft and Hindering. He was also held on open warrants totaling $3,600.

06-15-2017 (Glenridge Avenue) Mr. Anthony Farrow, 21yoa from Fairfield, was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct after causing a disturbance in the street.

06-06-2017 (Tichenor Place) Theft of patio furniture and bronze ornaments from the rear yard of a residence.

06-06-2017 (Watchung Train Station) Theft of a bicycle which had been chained to a fence below the train trestle. The bicycle lock chain was cut off during this incident. The suspect is described as an African-American male in his late 20s, wearing a black baseball cap and black hooded sweatshirt. Continue Reading

06-01-2017 (Orange Road) Mr. Eric Holland, 34yoa from Montclair, was arrested on an open warrant out of East Orange.

06-02-2017 (Johari, S. Park Street) Ms. Erica Perez, 32yoa from Newark, was arrested and charged with shoplifting.

Burglary/Theft

05-31-2017 (Pine Street) Burglary to the common storage area of an apartment building. An electricity meter was also damaged in this incident. It is unknown if anything was taken.

05-31-2017 (High Street) Theft of a delivered package from the front porch of a residence. This package contained clothing items.

06-01-2017 (Pine Street) Theft of food from an unlocked delivery vehicle.

06-03-2017 (Central Avenue) Theft of power tools and gardening equipment from the yard of a private residence.

06-05-2017 (Pine Street) Burglary to an apartment currently under construction. It is unknown if anything was taken in this incident. Continue Reading

05-23-2017 (Maple Avenue) Mr. Damon Woods, 21yoa from Montclair, was arrested on an open warrant out of Bloomfield.

05-27-2017 (Bloomfield Avenue) Officers responded to a report of a verbal argument. Mr. Michel Asheley, 32yoa from Bound Brook was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. No injuries were reported.

05-28-2017 (Elm Street) Mr. Quadir Turner, 37yoa from Orange, was arrested and charged with DWI.

05-28-2017 (Elm Street) Mr. Dahens Lucien, 31yoa from Sayreville, was arrested and charged with DWI.

05-28-2017 (Canterbury Park) Ms. Tamika Tims, 33yoa from Lakewood, was arrested on open warrants out of Westampton, Wall, and Jackson totaling $3,769.

Burglary/Theft

05-23-2017 A vehicle reported stolen from Forest Street on 05-14-2017 was located parked and unoccupied in the City of Newark.

05-19-2017 (Walnut Street) Mr. Bruce Richardson, 53yoa from Bloomfield, was arrested for a burglary which occurred on 05-17-2015 at the former Erie Saloon. This arrest was the result of an investigation.

05-19-2017 (North Mountain Avenue) Ms. Kimberly DiCarlo, 30yoa from Nutley, was arrested and charged with DWI.

05-21-2017 (Pine Street) Ms. Wynona Odom, 45yoa from Montclair was arrested and charged with theft of a package which had been delivered to a residence.

05-11-2017 (North Fullerton Avenue) Mr. Isaiah Gaskin, 35yoa from East Orange, was arrested and charged with DWI.

Burglary/Theft

05-10-2017 (Ward Place) Burglary to an apartment. Cash and jewelry was taken in this incident. There were no signs of forced entry.

05-11-2017 (Park Street) Theft from a motor vehicle. Access was gained by smashing a vehicle window with a rock. Loose change was taken.

05-11-2017 (Claremont Avenue) A parked vehicle had its window smashed and glove box rummaged through. Unknown if anything was taken at this time.

05-11-2017 (Maple Plaza Lot) Theft from a motor vehicle. Cash and sunglasses were taken. No sign of forced entry. Continue Reading

04-25-2017 (Pine Street) Mr. Kenneth Grant, 20yoa from Montclair, was arrested in connection with a burglary which occurred in Montclair on 04-11-2017.

Burglary/Theft

04-24-2017 (Montclair High School) Theft of a cellular telephone from the female locker room.

04-25-2017 (Magnolias, Upper Montclair Plaza) Theft of liquor from the store. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 21yoa, wearing a red shirt and jeans.

04-26-2017 (Elm Street) Burglary to a residence currently under construction. Multiple power tools were taken. There was no sign of forced entry. Continue Reading

Montclair Police Remind Residents to Take Precautions to Prevent Burglaries

On 04-25-2017 at approximately midnight, there was a burglary attempt to a residence on the northern end of South Mountain Avenue. The suspect was described as wearing a black shirt with white on the back. This suspect checked the door handle on the rear entrance to the residence. Entry was not gained to the home. The suspect then fled the property on foot.

The Montclair Police Department reminds all residents to lock the doors and windows to their homes and vehicles, particularly during the overnight hours. They are also advised not to leave any valuables, such as pocketbooks or portable electronics, in view. If any resident hears or sees anything unusual, they are urged to call the Police Department immediately.

Arrest:

04-12-2017 (South Mountain Avenue) Mr. Joseph Foster, 28yoa from Union was arrested and charged with Obstruction and Hindering for providing a false identity to police.

04-13-2017 (Marston Place) Mr. Michael Emanuel, 23yoa from Montclair, was arrested and charged with burglary for entering two unlocked vehicles in the area.

04-13-2017 (Bloomfield Avenue) Mr. Kim Chung, 29yoa from Clifton was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle accident. There were no reported injuries.

04-14-2017 (Pine Street) Officers were called to a disturbance in the street. Ms. Fatimah Leftwich, 36yoa from Montclair, was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, and Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer. Ms. Leftwich punched an officer in the face and tore their uniform during her arrest. Mr. Lander Ceaser, 35yoa from Montclair, was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct.

04-15-2017 (Bloomfield Avenue) Mr. Martin Garcias-Bautista, 34yoa from Montclair, was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.

04-15-2017 (Church Street) Mr. Darren Allen, 36yoa from Newark, was arrested on open warrants totaling $1,350.


Burglary/Theft:

04-11-2017 (Orange Road) A Hyundai Sonata, reported stolen hours earlier in town, was recovered parked and unoccupied in the area of the South End Stores.

04-15-2017 (Claremont Avenue) Theft from a motor vehicle. A wallet was taken in this incident. A side window was smashed to gain access to this vehicle.

04-16-2017 (North Mountain Avenue) Theft of a purse and cellular telephone from a motor vehicle. There was no sign of forced entry in this incident.

04-17-2017 (South Fullerton Avenue) Theft of a purse from a motor vehicle. A side window was smashed in order to gain entry.
