In partnership with The Newark Museum of Art, Woman In Media-Newark will present the third day of its 2022 Women’s Film Festival. with a focus on women leaders.

 

Barbara Lee: Speaking Truth to Power tells the complex story of California Congresswoman Barbara Lee who has been a steadfast voice for human rights, peace, and equality in the U.S. Congress for over two decades. Respected cultural and political icons including U.S. Senator Cory Booker, U.S. Representative Ayanna Presley, and author Alice Walker provide insight into what makes Barbara Lee unique as an African American political leader.

As part of the program, Community Service Awards will be presented to noted poet and educator Betty Neals and Liberian philanthropist and leader MacDella Cooper.
