This year’s FIRST FLL Innovation Project challenges middle school FIRST LEGO LEAGUE (FLL) teams to
• Identify a problem with a building or public space in their community.
• Design a solution.
• Share their solution with others who will be affected by their solution, and then refine it.
What if you could build a better world? Where would you begin?
Montclair Society of Engineers Friday September 20
We have assembled a panel of experts to help FIRST LEGO LEAGUE (FLL) teams get their Innovation Projects off to a great start. We’ll have a planning consultant, an architect, and a construction manager who will tell you about problems they’ve solved and answer your questions. Audience members will also be invited to share problems and ideas.

Laura Torchio: Project for Public Spaces
Laura,is Deputy Director of Transportation for the Project for Public Spaces, a non-profit dedicated to helping people create and sustain public spaces that build strong communities
Shalini Taneja: Architect and Educator
Shalini.will share her experience and answer such questions as, How does design happen? What does an architect do? What makes design sustainable?
John Osborne: Construction Manager
John is a Construction Manager in the Transportation Group at Urban Engineers Inc., an engineering design and consulting firm.
