“PowHer: Women Leaders of Color in Arts, Business and Social Justice” a panel of local women of color whose power and influence inspire!

Sponsored by the Undoing Racism Committee at UUCM and Co-sponsored by UUCM Men’s Group and UUCM Women’s Group, our panelists include:

–Dr. Jessica Valiente, flutist, bandleader, and scholar and performs internationally. She specializes in Afro-Cuban, Latin styles, jazz and early music and is on the faculty at The New School.

–Sharron Miller, founder and executive director of the Sharron Miller Academy of Performing Arts-SMAPA. She is a former Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater soloist and a veteran of Broadway musicals.
–Genesis Whitlock, a junior at Montclair High School. She is President of the Youth Council of the Montclair NAACP Chapter, active in the Center for Social Justice, and a future world leader.
