Workshop: Teaching Social and Emotional Skills to Students with Disabilities

Westbridge Academy will be hosting a free workshop, ‘Teaching Social and Emotional Skills to Students with Disabilities’, for special education professionals who can earn 4.5 CEU credits for attending. The presenter, Erin Bruno, is a national speaker and coordinator at Rutgers Behavioral Health Care’s Social Decision Making/Problem-Solving Program.
Attendees will learn:
- How to develop skills for overlearning.
- The difference between knowledge and skill.
- How to teach skills for emotional regulation and respectful communication.
- How to teach skills for prosocial problem-solving.
This presentation, occurring on March 16, 2018 from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm at 60 West St in Bloomfield, is offered as an outreach service to the community in and around Bloomfield. There is no cost for the workshop. Online registration is required at http://westbridgemarch2018.eventbrite.com.
